Dear Professor, 

Great work at the university. Your classes were understated and brilliant, albeit chaotic and hard to follow.

But out at the pub where you showed us all the way the world works - this is where you really shine. You rolled tight cigarettes and ordered us all a round of gin and sodas. You opened an ancient tome and... illumination. The world became complex and clear all at once. We all knew what came next and what we needed to do. Purpose and action.. 

Our lives are a paradox. 

You were the professor we needed. And perhaps, in the wee hours of the morn, the one we deserved. 

Go forth and profess.
