The world spins. It gets going faster and faster and faster. The centrifugal force is too much. It finally heats up to its tipping point and BOOM. All goes dark.
We flick on our headlamps: it’s midnight and we’re going skiing in this strange new world. The snow surface, coarse and grainy. Red. Earthen sheets of the dust settled around our boots. We illuminate the ridges and gulleys ahead. Large animals roam just out of sight, out of the small bubble of our lights. We clomp to the horizon and dig a put. Just as I suspected: depth hoar, deep and faceted in the dark. It could be another age until this place turns again.
In this great unknown we turn and face the ever rising temperature. Time to snap in and descend.
